Boquete is located in the West of Panama, not far from the Costa Rican border, as the map below shows. Located 7 hours drive from Panama City, and just 2 hours from the Costa Rican border, Boquete is not the easiest place to access by car, therefore most of the time poeple travelling from San Jose, Costa Rica or Panama City will fly to one of the small airports in the area, dramaticallu decreasing transport times. The area has a much cooler climate than the coast, due to its mountainous terrain, which in places allows for some stunning Pacific Ocean views.

The town of Boquete is currently a quiet mountain town, however it is constantly growing in size, with new property going up in many parts. There are many small shops and cafes to enjoy, as well as local markets which are open everyday. As you can see, being a mountain area does not affect the accessibilty of this stunning, picturesque area of Panama. Weather - The area of Boquete has a mild climate compared to the rest of Panama. Some areas of Panama are very humid and sticky however Boquete is like Switzerland during the summer months.

Environment - The area has a relaxed yet fun vibe and with the number of retirees and people residing in the area there is always someone ready to help. Being able to make friends with your own people as well as Panamanians will help you to no end with living in paradise.

Tourism - The area has seen a good rise in the level of tourism in the area and this had led to a better infrastructure in the area.
