There are 3 main parts
of the Chiriqui province that attract the majority of
tourists. These at the city of David, the Chiriqui Beaches
and the town of Boquete.
The City of David is the
Capital of the Chiriqui Province. Lying on a coastal
plain between the beaches and the mountains, some mindblowing
views can be experienced. The city began as a small
market town from all of the agriculture in the area,
and has since grown and has a frontier feel to it. If
here on a Sunday, it is highly suggested that visitors
take a rodeo riide!
The Chriqui Beaches are
said to be some of the best in Panama, and its easy
to see why. White golden sand meets the beautiful blue
Pacific Ocean to form a stunning place to relax and
admire the surroundings. The Las Olas Resort on the
Chiriqui Beaches is reccomended for anyone wanting to
relax in the area. The resort offers some great facilities
and is only an hours drive from David.
The town of Boquete is
one of Panama's most famous places to visit after Panama
City. Famous for its stunning natural beauty, and its
location on the eastern slope of the Baru Volcano, this
little town offers guests a peaceful and tranwuil highland
getaway. Boquete is also famous for its white water
rafting, said to be some of the best in Panama, on the
Rio Chiriqui Viejo.
For flower and coffee
lovers, Boquete hosts the world famous Flower and coffee
fair every January, with people coming from all over
the world to see the fairground on the river banks,
the stunning tripical flowers and sample Panama's superb
coffee. Other events for flower lovers is the Orchid
show in April!
Boquete was recently named
as one of the top 4 places in the world to retire to,
due to its great climate, stunnign views and cheap land
and living prices.
